Rules of conduct

Licensed Conveyancers must comply with Rules of Conduct, set out in Schedule 3 of the Conveyancers Licensing Regulation (NSW) 2015.

The Rules of Conduct set the standard for their business dealings and ethical behaviour with consumers.

Licensed Conveyancers must:

  • deal with their clients competently, diligently, fairly and honestly
  • not allow any conflict of interest that could interfere with a client’s best interests
  • provide certain information to clients about the conveyancing process.

Failure to comply with the Rules of Conduct can result in a conveyancer being penalised.
