We are pleased to confirm that the Council of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers NSW Division Limited has conferred on Mr Ian Marler the status of Life Membership.

Ian Marler, Michelle Kent and Chris Tyler

The award of Life Membership is recognition of the significant contribution that Ian has made to the formation, education, and development of the conveyancing profession in NSW.

Through Ian’s diligent advocacy and determination, the Association of Property Conveyancers endured in its fight to realise the legislative changes that oversaw the establishment of Licenced Conveyancers in NSW in 1992 and our industry body, the AICNSW.

Ian commenced the business of Conveyancing Services in Adamstown NSW in 1986, and since that time has maintained continuous membership of AICNSW. Over the years, in addition to managing his business and mentoring and developing his staff, Ian has been active with the AICNSW in presenting seminars for conveyancers.

Ian has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to the AICNSW Council and to the education and development of his fellow members and colleagues. Together with his highly professional and ethical approach and his exemplary conduct, Ian has enhanced the quality and standing of the conveyancing profession in NSW.

We warmly congratulate Ian on his achievement and look forward to his continued involvement with the AICNSW in his capacity as Life Member.

Contemporaneous with this Award, the Council of AIC National also conferred upon Ian the designation of Fellowship in recognition of his deep and abiding commitment and dedication to the profession.

To be eligible for Fellowship, a member must have a professional reputation of a high order and high ethical standards, and must have made a significant contribution to the furtherance of the conveyancing profession.

An applicant must demonstrate a minimum of three of the following:

  • has served the profession with distinction
  • has a high level of general knowledge of conveyancing
  • has a high level of managerial and professional ability

The Life Membership and Fellowship Certification were presented to Ian, who was joined by his wife, and his colleagues at a lunch in Newcastle on 20 February 2018. Michelle Kent, on behalf of AIC National and AICNSW, together with Chris Tyler, CEO of AICNSW, were delighted to present Ian with his certificates.
